I love writing, I have been writing for the past 20 years. At first I wrote my lyrics for rap and over time my writing has gotten better.
My latest book is called “Lettre à Tupac” (Letter to TUPAC), he is an artist, a personality, who has greatly impacted my life..
He was a well-known artist who has put his mark on many different people, from different cultures, ethnic communities, generations and from different living conditions.
In this imaginary letter to him, I want to talk about things that still seems important to me today.
I never thought about writing this book, it was obvious to me because I have read a lot about him and listened to his songs and it seems to me that Tupac help us to approach problems in a constructive way.
I am thinking above all of crime preventions, I am thinking of psychoactive substances, gender relations, political autonomy, economic autonomy and entrepreneurship, I am also thinking of creative industries that are important today.
His approach and vision are more relevant than ever, it seemed important to me to approach it in my own way.

A Caribbean writer that inspires me…
One of the Caribbean writers who inspires me is Ernest Pepin because he writes well, he has evolved well, he inspires me with his poetic writing, his imagination… I like his Creole imagination.
Besides, I like speaking Creole and I also like his self-awareness.
Another reason he inspires me is that he has written an open letter to the youth and 20 years later I myself wrote an open letter to the youth.
This open letter was an awakening for me when I was younger.

What I have learned from life journey
If I had to share a life lesson it would be this: when I was 8 or 9 years old I gradually began to lose sight of my right eye. It wasn’t fun to be different, but it’s a disability that has become a way of expression.
Upon reflection, I think it was the beginning of my artistic life.
Life accidents can be divine sources of inspiration, courage, strength and determination that drive us to reveal things unsuspected in us.
It is also a way to cultivate our sensibility.

And in the Caribbean…
The thing I would like to achieve above all in the Caribbean would be to go with young detainees and ideally from my country to another Caribbean country, Jamaica or Haiti, to share a 2 weeks experience in a country different from the one that they know.
Travel shapes youth, I am who I am because I travelled and because I took a trip to Atlanta when I was 17, it opened my mind so there you are.
And if I had to do something after it would be a language trip with a dozen youth aged of 17 years old in the same city in Atlanta, the “Black Mecca”.
Good job Richès Karayib
by ASIS W.I…
In conclusion, I would like to congratulate Richès Karayib by ASIS W.I. on this initiative and I believe that we must continue developing autonomous experiences without waiting for a budget, a clap on the back or an official assistance.
I would also say that the importance of our contribution does not go together with the size of our island, so let us take part in the country and in the world. Each individual contributes a part to his country or entire region success collectively and vice versa.
